Nice location. However, as others have mentioned, maintenace can be slow at times for non-emergencies. Nevertheless, they always respond. The staff in the office is great, very understanding and helpful. I've been here many years and plan to stay many more.

Great location, decent price, but just keep having bad experiences. Bad foundation, long waits for repairs, serious bug problem. Reporting to front desk isn't always helpful until you come in with photos. However the front desk people are nice. Close to schools and parks, two pools. Wished I had paid less for what I got.

I have lived here a little over 2 years and love every minute of it. The management team is great, friendly and really care about you. There has never been an instance when i have gone to the office that they did not make me feel welcome. They will chat with you if time is available to do so and that makes me feel like i am a special resident, meaning they do take the time to care and show it as well.
The maintenance staff is excellent as well. They are kind and willing to help with any needs i may have. Very fast to respond to any situations or emergency as well. They as well take the time make sure you feel at home here.
The events they have are great for all ages and are centered around the time everyone can attend.
To wrap it up in a few sentences or words. They really do care about you, take time for you and most of all are the greatest team that i have ever had as a resident at other apartment complexes.
Mission Rockwall staff rocks and i will refer any one to this property and keep up the good work.

Me and my children have enjoyed living in this apartment community for the last two (2) years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are very kid friendly as well. My boys enjoy all the events that they have for the smaller people that reside there.

I am a long time resident of this property and must say that compared to others I've lived in or visited, this is top rank. I have never had an issue with the maintenence personnel or the office staff. They are friendly professional and above all have been more than willing to work with me in any low periods I may have experienced. Sure there are some things that occur that are outside of their immediate control such as after hours pool visits. However even those now have a plan in place to monitor activity and limit to only residents and their immediate friends. They also limit pool activity to the normal hours. Kudos ! Not many complexes can claim that ! All in all this has been and is an excellent place to hang my hat !

Christopher,
Thank you for taking the time to comment on our community and for recognizing our efforts to control the pool area traffic. Fortunately, our neighbors have helped with this in large part and the summer is off to a great start. We are glad you call Mission Spring Creek home!
Thank you,

Problems: german roaches, management*, maintenance**, incorrect fees, flood-prone parking lot.
*Lower-level staff has a high turnover rate, so whenever Anne or Samantha (the managers) provide misinformation, they conveniently blame it on a lower-level employee. Fortunately, there are never more than three managers at the complex at one time, so when the top two ladies blame someone else, it's pretty easy to spot their crap.
**I've been told that maintenance will only come when you fill out a paper maint. application/complaint, but management is inconsistent on this issue (here we go again: misinformation). Maintenance came a few times to fix my air conditioning, but blamed everything on the new air filter I'd bought two days before (weird). They then, randomly, came back to fix some part I'd never heard of before. The air conditioning didn't improve, but I've filed a new application/complaint, so we'll see how this turns out.
I enjoyed: the cheap price of the apartment, having Anne speak nicely towards me during the last few months of my lease.
Also: The City of Garland charges a lot for electricity. Many other residents complain of break-ins, drug problems, and bugs on other review sites.

My feelings are mixed. I love the location, my floorplan (absolutely love that all the 2 bedrooms have a separate dining room), and the latest staff. The current manager, Beth and her assistant are awesome. They are always willing to help you and always friendly and on top of things. Sadly, they have inherited missteps and stupid decisions from previous management (Beth is the 3rd property manager since I moved in in 2008). I have had no major need for maintenance, but they are very prompt and skilled when they are needed.
Not so in love with the trash situation, (we have one dumpster for the whole complex and it is always full, and we get charged if we don't put trash in the dumpster), and not in love with the payment options. You can pay online, but you have to set up recurring payments in order to avoid the $14.95 fee, however, water is rolled in, and I do not have the time (or attention span) to adjust my monthly payment every month. If they just debited me my amount due, it would be much less frustrating.

I love living at Mission Preston Wood you don't have a hassle with the parking and there is no loud noise. Neighbors are nice and things get done in a timely manner when maintenance is asked to come out. Property in always clean and the location is great just right of the highway.

I've lived in other luxury apts and this is one of the best. The staff is freindly and accomodating and the service is usually quick. My only complaint would be the design of the parking lots; some ares have more than enough while others are lacking. Makes you wonder about the state of mind of the designer.

Thank you so much for your kind words about our community and our team. I apologize that the parking has been some what of a frustration for you. I have lived at Mission Collin Creek for twenty months now. My experience here has had positives and negatives, but I have had a somewhat positive experience. The apartments are older and do not have the nicest amenities, but I find my apartment extremely cozy. My wife and I are considering extending our lease in the fall.
The company I work for is just down the road so that's why I initially looked at Mission Collin Creek. Most people my age and married would likely not enjoy living here; however, my wife and I like it because it is budget friendly, near 75, provides immediate access to a running / biking trail, and for the most part, is quiet.
Parking has been a big problem in the past but has improved in the last few months. Earlier this year, the apartment complex was under management that did not enforce some rather basic parking guidelines. Cars with flat tires sat in the same spots for 2 – 3 months at a time without moving as did trailers. To add to the lack of available parking, two new handicap signs went up to bring the total to three in the parking area. On several occasions, one resident who needed the handicap space would not park in one of the three available spaces. Instead, the resident would park in a regular space. On a Thursday night, I came home after 10:30 and there were no vacant parking spaces near my building. The spaces were full, about 50 in each direction away from my apartment. Rather than parking a distance from my apartment late at night, I parked in the handicap space. The resident’s car who did park in this particular handicap space was nowhere in sight. The next morning I woke to find my car had been towed. Only after the fact, I learned the apartment complex had hired a new towing company to monitor the lot. If the apartment complex had communicated this to residents at Mission Collin Creek, I would not have risked parking in the handicap space. I was out $200 for my mistake and upset with the apartment for not enforcing parking to those residents who had added to the problem months prior.
Amenities. As stated earlier, the amenities are not new, but they get the job done. Maintenance has done a great job of helping out if we have a problem with the oven, fridge, dishwasher, disposal, etc. They did install a brand new dishwasher since the old one did not work. They have sharpened the blades on the disposal and maintained the air conditioning unit to help keep the apartment cool. The apartments with fireplaces are great, by the way.
Social Scene. We haven’t experienced much of a social scene, and we are okay with that. We have other outlets that we can meet people, network, and spend time with friends.
Location. My wife and I really like the location of Mission Collin Creek. We believe this is one of the great qualities of the complex. It is tucked away in a residential area near 75. We can be out of the apartment, in the car, and on 75 headed north or south in 3 minutes.
Value. We feel that we receive good value from the apartment.
Mandie, the current manager of the apartment complex has done a great job reaching out to residents, following up when you have a problem, spending the money to maintain the complex and provide upkeep. Things are improving and getting better as she continues to work here.

Hi John,
I always hope to hear good reviews from our residents but it’s also helpful to know where we need to improve, so thank you for your review on the positives and negatives.
Our towing company has and will continue to tow cars that are illegally parked in the handicap parking spaces and fire lanes. I will work on finding out where these spaces are needed most. We may be able to relocate the handicap spaces closer to the resident in need to avoid taking up other non handicap spaces. I understand your frustration with this problem and I am working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. You have been patience, kind, and understanding even when you car was towed. I wish you had not experienced that inconvenience.
The amenities are always being looked at for improvements. The fitness center has two new treadmills and the spa was repaired several months ago and working great. The laundry rooms just went thought a total renovation with all new machines. We will be completing some more exterior upgrades to the siding and paint starting next week. It is our goal to keep improving the interiors and exteriors of the property. We know in order to maintain a good appearance that is a must.
Thank you for your positive comments about our maintenance team and myself. We appreciate you and your wife and hope you both continue to enjoying living here at Mission Collin Creek.
You are always welcome to stop by our office or call with any concerns.
Sincerely,
Mandie McClendon

I moved in in January 2010 and have not had any problems. I do agree that there are a lot of kids in the parking lots riding their scouters or skating. I love the office staff they always are able to help with any problem or issue I have. I was concern when I moved it that I would hear the neighbors but I do not hear any. Thanks for all your support and help.

I have lived here for the past 2 1/2 years with no complaints. The parking could be a little better, but overall they are decent. I haven't had too much problems out of neighbors here except for one cranky old lady downstairs. The inside of the apartments are decent. They could use some nice appliances, but overall it's livable. Very close to 75 which is helpful. There is no social scene here whatsoever, so if your a single 20 something, don't expect to make tons of friends here. I just go to work and come home anyways so I'm not looking for fulfillment here in that aspect. I will be moving to the sister property in Allen Gleneagles because they are a little cheaper but have nice apartments in and out. Hopefully that's not a huge mistake. I tried to transfer to a different one bedroom here that was downstairs and out of the afternoon sun to help save on electricity, but they would not let me. Their loss since i've never been late on rent and they have never had any problems out of me. Overalll not a bad complex if your just looking for something semi decent and centrally located.

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Mission Collin Creek. I am glad you have enjoyed your time here. As far as the transfer on site we have certain polices that we review before any resident is transferred. I will look into this and see why you were not allowed to transfer. I would like to meet with you and see what we can do for you. You're right, it would be our loss to not have you here.

I have lived here for the past two years. The apartments could use some updating, they were built in the 80's I believe. Even with the needed updating, they are a great value. The area is quiet for the most part. My biggest complaint would be there are always children playing in the parking lot. A few of the neighbors seem a little rough, but I never feel unsafe. The management is very good about fixing maintence request. You can make your request online, which is very nice, and sometimes they are taken care of within a couple of ours. Overall, I have been very happy here.
