I have lived at Mission Collin Creek for twenty months now. My experience here has had positives and negatives, but I have had a somewhat positive experience. The apartments are older and do not have the nicest amenities, but I find my apartment extremely cozy. My wife and I are considering extending our lease in the fall. The company I work for is just down the road so that's why I initially looked at Mission Collin Creek. Most people my age and married would likely not enjoy living here; however, my wife and I like it because it is budget friendly, near 75, provides immediate access to a running / biking trail, and for the most part, is quiet. Parking has been a big problem in the past but has improved in the last few months. Earlier this year, the apartment complex was under management that did not enforce some rather basic parking guidelines. Cars with flat tires sat in the same spots for 2 – 3 months at a time without moving as did trailers. To add to the lack of available parking, two new handicap signs went up to bring the total to three in the parking area. On several occasions, one resident who needed the handicap space would not park in one of the three available spaces. Instead, the resident would park in a regular space. On a Thursday night, I came home after 10:30 and there were no vacant parking spaces near my building. The spaces were full, about 50 in each direction away from my apartment. Rather than parking a distance from my apartment late at night, I parked in the handicap space. The resident’s car who did park in this particular handicap space was nowhere in sight. The next morning I woke to find my car had been towed. Only after the fact, I learned the apartment complex had hired a new towing company to monitor the lot. If the apartment complex had communicated this to residents at Mission Collin Creek, I would not have risked parking in the handicap space. I was out $200 for my mistake and upset with the apartment for not enforcing parking to those residents who had added to the problem months prior. Amenities. As stated earlier, the amenities are not new, but they get the job done. Maintenance has done a great job of helping out if we have a problem with the oven, fridge, dishwasher, disposal, etc. They did install a brand new dishwasher since the old one did not work. They have sharpened the blades on the disposal and maintained the air conditioning unit to help keep the apartment cool. The apartments with fireplaces are great, by the way. Social Scene. We haven’t experienced much of a social scene, and we are okay with that. We have other outlets that we can meet people, network, and spend time with friends. Location. My wife and I really like the location of Mission Collin Creek. We believe this is one of the great qualities of the complex. It is tucked away in a residential area near 75. We can be out of the apartment, in the car, and on 75 headed north or south in 3 minutes. Value. We feel that we receive good value from the apartment. Mandie, the current manager of the apartment complex has done a great job reaching out to residents, following up when you have a problem, spending the money to maintain the complex and provide upkeep. Things are improving and getting better as she continues to work here.

Hi John, I always hope to hear good reviews from our residents but it’s also helpful to know where we need to improve, so thank you for your review on the positives and negatives. Our towing company has and will continue to tow cars that are illegally parked in the handicap parking spaces and fire lanes. I will work on finding out where these spaces are needed most. We may be able to relocate the handicap spaces closer to the resident in need to avoid taking up other non handicap spaces. I understand your frustration with this problem and I am working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. You have been patience, kind, and understanding even when you car was towed. I wish you had not experienced that inconvenience. The amenities are always being looked at for improvements. The fitness center has two new treadmills and the spa was repaired several months ago and working great. The laundry rooms just went thought a total renovation with all new machines. We will be completing some more exterior upgrades to the siding and paint starting next week. It is our goal to keep improving the interiors and exteriors of the property. We know in order to maintain a good appearance that is a must. Thank you for your positive comments about our maintenance team and myself. We appreciate you and your wife and hope you both continue to enjoying living here at Mission Collin Creek. You are always welcome to stop by our office or call with any concerns. Sincerely, Mandie McClendon

I moved in in January 2010 and have not had any problems. I do agree that there are a lot of kids in the parking lots riding their scouters or skating. I love the office staff they always are able to help with any problem or issue I have. I was concern when I moved it that I would hear the neighbors but I do not hear any. Thanks for all your support and help.

I have lived here for the past 2 1/2 years with no complaints. The parking could be a little better, but overall they are decent. I haven't had too much problems out of neighbors here except for one cranky old lady downstairs. The inside of the apartments are decent. They could use some nice appliances, but overall it's livable. Very close to 75 which is helpful. There is no social scene here whatsoever, so if your a single 20 something, don't expect to make tons of friends here. I just go to work and come home anyways so I'm not looking for fulfillment here in that aspect. I will be moving to the sister property in Allen Gleneagles because they are a little cheaper but have nice apartments in and out. Hopefully that's not a huge mistake. I tried to transfer to a different one bedroom here that was downstairs and out of the afternoon sun to help save on electricity, but they would not let me. Their loss since i've never been late on rent and they have never had any problems out of me. Overalll not a bad complex if your just looking for something semi decent and centrally located.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Mission Collin Creek. I am glad you have enjoyed your time here. As far as the transfer on site we have certain polices that we review before any resident is transferred. I will look into this and see why you were not allowed to transfer. I would like to meet with you and see what we can do for you. You're right, it would be our loss to not have you here. You are welcome to stop by the office, call, or e-mail me any time. Our number is (972)422-2512 and my e-mail address is collincreekpm@missionresidential.com. Sincerely, Mandie McClendon Property Manager

I have lived here for the past two years. The apartments could use some updating, they were built in the 80's I believe. Even with the needed updating, they are a great value. The area is quiet for the most part. My biggest complaint would be there are always children playing in the parking lot. A few of the neighbors seem a little rough, but I never feel unsafe. The management is very good about fixing maintence request. You can make your request online, which is very nice, and sometimes they are taken care of within a couple of ours. Overall, I have been very happy here.

Hi Tailor, I am so happy to hear you have had a good experience with our maintenance team. It is very rewarding to receive positive feedback from you about our team. I will make sure I share this with the maintenance staff. We are working on the exterior of the property now and will continue to make improvements. You are welcome to bring in any concerns or ideas you may have for improvements. Starting July 1st we will have a courtesy patrol to look after the property. They will be checking all common areas for disturbances. They are also on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Thank you for your review.
